MENTORING

How I could help you

Being a solo or independent business owner can be hard work and isolating for anyone, but being neurodivergent (ND) can present another set of challenges, too.

These challenges will be different for everyone. I will put any assumptions aside and really listen to what you need from me.

This could include:
  • Helping you to develop your business or sales & marketing strategy, then meeting with you weekly or monthly as you implement it.
  • Being a listening ear or a ‘business friend’ when you want to talk about your ideas.
  • Helping you avoid distractions so you stay on track.
  • Helping you make the best use of your time and energy so you can run your business and enjoy life, too.
  • Overcoming information overload, whether that’s by cutting things out or working through things a second or third time until you fully understand them.
  • Helping you to boost your confidence and tackle situations you find challenging, or find ways to say ‘no’ gracefully if you’d rather not – or simply can’t – do them at all.
  • Help you explore alternative, creative ways around the things that everyone else seems to find easy.
  • Help you reflect on what you’ve achieved and then set goals for what you want to do next.
  • Help you to automate parts of your business to save your energy and free you up to do what you’re best at.
  • Anything else you think I could help you with? Please just ask.
What’s the difference between mentoring and coaching?

As your mentor, I will help you identify what’s stopping you from having the business you want and support you as you get it to where you want it to be. I’ll listen carefully to what may be getting in your way, help you work out strategies to overcome these things and, with your permission, I’m happy to share my advice and opinion.

Coaches work in many different ways, but they usually work with you on your personal values and vision, and rarely give advice. As a mentor, my role is to help you get things done rather than to help you to decide what you want.

There is overlap between coaches and mentors, of course. Both will encourage you to set goals and give you accountabilty as you work towards them, for example.

What if you don’t have a diagnosis?

If you are self-diagnosed, awaiting diagnosis, don’t reach the threshold for a diagnosis or just suspect you have ND traits you’re welcome, too. You are also welcome if you’re neurotypical and like my style!

After that I can either arrange a short Zoom call or we can discuss things by email or Whatsapp, whichever you prefer.
